Description

In-may 1966, the U.S. Army developed the M551 Sheridan light tank which combined the talents the M41 Walker Bulldog and M56 Scorpion. It could be quickly implemented to conflict areas via airdrop to produce fire support or anti-armor ability. The highly-mobile, amphibious M551 showcased lightweight aluminum alloy construction and ended up being running on a 300hp diesel engine.
